Despite the overall positive experience, some guests note that peak times can lead to longer waits for food and tables, especially Saturday evenings when 100% capacity is reached. While the food generally receives high praise, a few diners have mentioned that the menu can feel limited at times, longing for more seasonal or creative options. Additionally, the location, while lovely, may pose parking challenges during busy hours, as street parking fills quickly. Some patrons also feel that it can get a bit noisy during busy live music sessions, affecting conversations.
Nipped in for some food after a walk. It was mid afternoon and the kitchen was open :) cosy atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was really good, fresh to order and not a long wait. 10/10 Would recommend 👌🏽
Visited here for the first time this afternoon. Exceptionally friendly welcome and excellent service. Great food. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Best of luck to the new team who have only recently taken over - you’re off to a very good start!
The food here is very good, especially the fish and chips. The fish in particular was very soft and perfect with a hint of lemon and salt. A very delicious dish
Recently reopened and what a pleasure to visit. We have walked, cycled and driven to this pub. Situated on the main road from Biddulph to Congleton, and a stones throw from the Biddulph valley way, it’s a perfect place for a pit stop. Warm, welcoming and relaxed, serving basic pub grub, but done just right and at a reasonable price! Staff are friendly and welcoming and after a couple of visits, remember you, which adds to the experience. Good selection of beers and wines, with Timothy Taylor being a very nice pint.

First time eating here since the new owners and was very impressed. Very personable service and delicious home-cooked food, but far superior to usual pub fare. Would highly recommend
Phenomenal food, fast service, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. I’d recommend the mushrooms on toast and the firecracker chicken burger if you like a little heat!
